( بالتاء المشددة المضمومة والواو المفتوحة والياء الساكنة وميم تصغير توم أو تؤم ). • وهي قرية من أقدم القرى في إقليم سدير ولذلك لم يرد لفظ التويم بصيغته المعروفة حالياً في المعاجم اللغوية العربية القديمة خلال القرون الثمانية الأولى للهجرة وكل ما ذكرته تلك المعاجم هو عن مادة التوم والتوم هو اللؤلؤ والواحدة تومة قال أبو عمرو :هي الدرة والتومة والتؤامية واللطيمة والعرب تسمي بيض النعام التوم تشبيهاً لتوم اللؤلؤ ويقال للدرة تومة تشبيهاً لها بما يساوي من الفضة كاللؤلؤ تجعلها الجارية في أذنيها أما التوأمية فهما درتان للأذنين أحدهما تؤامة. • الموقع : تقع بلدة التويم في وسط منطقة سدير في نجد على خط طول 85 إلى 45 شرقاً وعلى خط عرض 11 إلى 25 شمالاً، ويمر بها الطريق العام القديم الذي يربط الرياض- سدير- القصيم، على بعد 170كم من الناحية الشمالية الغربية عن مدينة الرياض وكذلك يمر بالقرب منها وعلى مسافة 11كم الطريق السريع الذي يربط أيضاً الرياض- سدير- القصيم.
