Manarat Al Taj Hotel - Mostly Run by Pakistani/Bangladeshi people, traditional desi food served 3 times; after Fajr, Duhr, Isha - 2, 3, 4, 5 occupancy bedrooms available with A/C but very tight fit in small rooms during Hajj season, only 1 Room card provided for all occupants, shower/toilets stink of sewage due to poor drainage & water pipes leaking constantly - 10 floors 2 x lifts but can be very slow & long wait during busy times. Free Hot & cold water available on all floors & tea available from restaurant no Kitchen so food is ordered in daily. Alhamdulillah only around 5 minutes walk to Al-Masjid An-Nabawi

Manarat Al-Taj Hotel building had two Hotels in the same doing, other was called Sanabel. Ground floor was surrounded by small retail unit stores selling usual trinkets, fabrics etc. Mostly run by Pakistani / Bangladeshi staff. Alhamdulillah distance to Masjid An Nabawi was around 450 metre and took about 10 minutes. Hotel had a decent lobby, 3 set of good capacity lifts but had delays during Salah times. It offered 2, 3, 4, or up to 5 people occupancy during this Haj period but rooms were tight. Only 1 room fob card was given. All rooms on our floor upon our arrival failed their Air-Con and some rooms really smelled of sewage, literally. Ventilation helped to reduce this somewhat but first night was not good. En-suit condition was disappointing, shower curtain rail crooked, some dirty walls and sink surface, black paint like specks splattered across some areas gave a grubby feel etc but better than our last hotel. Canteen had no kitchen so food was ordered in and canteen areas sectioned off for different tour groups, British Asians, Turkish etc. It was always crowded as hotel was probably full capacity during this Haj period. Plenty of water, tea, soft drinks and apples were available during the food serving period which catered traditional desi food for our group but no healthy options. However the Turkish Group was given decent fruit/salads so guess this was own tour group dependent and not from the hotel as such. On our last day, a different large group arrived, overloaded the lifts with their luggage and broke them. Everyone suffered, especially the elderly and those on high floors forced to take stairs as issue took probably half day to fix. Hotel staff should have managed this influx of new arrivals and stopped this from happening. See photos taken...

The room is small and congested. The water in the toilet does not drain properly after a shower. It's 5-10 minutes walk to Prophet's Masjid.

This was an unplanned stay for our small group of 20+ haj pligrims who are supposed to stay in a 4 star rated hotel which cancelled our booking, so it was quite a shock initially as during our arrival the small lobby was crowded with african pilgrims as well at that time within the small area of reception in what appeared as a 2 star hotel the most. Not that we mind if only they weren’t a bit noisy at night sometimes as well. The room is cosy for 2 person, slightly small and cramped but bed and toilet were comfortable with warm and cold shower and cool AC. Some road noise is there but manageable. Garbage collection is once in few days or on demand. For more than 2 occupants, it can be rather challenging to stay to even lay open luggage bag, it has to be in turns or on the bed. So for short budget stay without much luggage perhaps ok. Lobby has nice coffee shop, delicious arab tea and coffee with pleasant caretaker. Double check your change though. Distance from Haram is 8 minutes brisk walk for men or 600m, easy access to raudhah for entry via Door 1-3. For ladies who has to access the back door, the walk is a bit further and can be a bit taxing in the afternoon heat. Great Pakistani food store across the road 5 min away as well as central date markets and various shops within convenient distance.

A nice hotel for the stay. The wifi was exceptional and very good even on the 10th floor. Its very close to the Haram and all the important food points are also nearby. Albaik is at the walk of a minute from the hotel. Gate 6 is at about 2 to 3 minute walk from the hotel. However the the rooms in the hotel needs a lot of improvements such as daily cleaning, kettle for tea, proper hair dryer and towels in wash room. Hotel staff was very cooperative and friendly. The dates market is very close to the hotel as well. Overall, I enjoyed living over there.

Location is good as it is very near to Haram. Walking distance is 5 minutes.under ground parking is available but it is very difficult for a new driver to drive in that slope and the speed breakers are not constructed properly. Bathroom was so dirty or may be we have given a room which has a dirty washroom. Room was ok because it dont have enough space to put travelling bags and to offer prayer. No towel, no prayer mat, no indication mark for qibla. Wel the service was good, view from glass door window was good although it is dangerous for kids as our glass door lock was broken.so do check it before. They have automatic light system in corridors that is a good thing for saving energy.
