The airport was built in 1974 and the airport officially opened in April 1981. The airport occupies an area of 105 km², in addition to the main airport facilities, facilities for staff accommodation and facilities of the Saudi Royal Air Force base in the Western Region and areas for future expansions. The airport is the most important airport in Saudi Arabia, as it is the main hub and operations center of Saudi Arabian Airlines. It is also the gateway to Makkah Al Mukarramah. There are at least 20 airlines operating from North Terminal with daily 100 flights, flight tickets always includes airport fees but there is no seating arrangement and only 2 coffee joints at departing gates but best free internet, I am writing this review from their internet only :-)
