رمی جمرات ثلاثه که در روزهای ۱۱ و ۱۲ ذی الحجه در مناسک حج ابراهیمی برگزار می‌شود بسیار باشکوه و پرعظمت است. حاجیان در این دو روز هر سه جمره را رمی می‌کنند و به تعداد ۷ عدد سنگ به این شیاطین سنگ پرتاب می‌کنند. البته جمره عقبی در روز اول یعنی در روز عید قربان هم رمی می‌شود یعنی هم در روزهای ۱۰، ۱۱ و ۱۲ ذی الحجه جمره عقبه رمی می‌شود اما جمره اولی و وسطی فقط در روزهای ۱۱ و ۱۲ ذی الحجه رمی می‌شود.
رمی جمرات در واقع ممثل دفع اعتباریات و نفسانیات است و مسلمانان همانگونه که حضرت ابراهیم علیه السلام این کار را انجام داد آنها هم به ایشان اقتدا می‌کنند.
