Please ensure your tickets are confirmed on the day of departure. If it is a previous day ticket or longer chances of you getting a seat is less and you will have to wait till all passengers who have tickets are seated and then if there are empty seats, they will accommodate you in the same bus or when there is another bus with empty seats.
I had a ticket for journey to Khafji yesterday and someone told me not to cancel my ticket and rebook as the ticket was valid for a few months for a future journey. All this is based on availability of empty seats. Even if you stand in front of line or arrive early, you will be alloted a seat based on availability. Please remember this when purchasing a ticket in future. All tickets have your iqama number so I am not sure it can be sold to someone else or transferred. Please ask someone else for information.
There is a counter for Islamic books donated from the Al Masjid Al Haram Masjid. You can pick up a free copy even if the counter is closed.
Also zam zam water cans (5 litres) are sold in the food station beside departure seating area.its available for 20 riyals.
