★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I visited it at Ramadan for Iftar only, the place was very amazing, I liked the location, style, design and lights, every thing is new and clean, the food was not perfect, but it is ok, the staff was friendly and welcoming, overall I liked it?

I’m extremely disappointed after my visit to Alfolk restaurant today in your hotel in Jeddah.
When I preferred a table for two people next to the windows, your employee Taher Alkhateeb claimed that the tables next to the windows are by policy reserved to guests staying in the hotel only.
This is extremely unfair since such option was not offered to me while booking in the restaurant.
In addition, I have seen and heard Taher offering the table to another guest who chose it.
Unfortunately, Taher didn’t handle my complaint well when I spoke to him on what I have heard and was below expectation for a response in such a luxury restaurant not even an apology for not meeting my preference or least effort to make it up

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location with a pretty sea view in the jeddah water front ?beautiful interior
They have a one cafe ( Cupa ) very classy interior with outdoor area
and 2 restaurants one is Chinese restaurant names (change palace) and international restaurant names ( waterfront kitchen ) with amazing redsea view.
They have a kids club and Spa ( the Spa)
The hotel staff are friendly,Miss Rima in the front reception very polite and helpful?
The only comment I have there is no Shangri-La's signature scent in the hotel

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I just went to have coffee with a friend so I cannot rate the rooms. But the environment and service were top notch. I imagine everything about the hotel will be the same. I look forward to staying here on one of my trips to Jeddah

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I will be very honest in my review starting with positive feedback which is related ONLY to the location of the hotel and F&B I highly recommend it;
But unfortunately, your experience will be screwed and you can’t have an enjoyable experience without having a great first impression here are my hopes for extremely required improvements starting from the security guard at the hotel gate, moving to unprofessionalism, and lack of customer experience from the receptionist.
When I’m saying I will be visiting Shangri-La Hotel my expectations of the hotel name worldwide are very high standards and Jeddah team didn’t win that at all.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Malfunctioning Facilities / Inexperienced and Rude Staff
I would not recommend this hotel at all. We had a horrible stay and spent most of our 48 hour period in the hotel dealing with malfunctioning equipment and inexperienced/rude staff.
Cons:
1. Faulty ACs
2. Faulty "smart" curtains - no privacy in bathroom when opened and lets light in preventing sleep
3. Rude/inexperienced staff
4. Smelly rooms - kitchen smells that staff is not sure where it is coming from
5. Unclean windows – reducing views
6. City/Sea view rooms are a joke (you have to stick your neck out the balcony to see some water).
7. Breakfast “manaish” station was broken for two days
8. Breakfast also did not have orange juice
9. Breakfast staff too busy to handle load
10. Traffic is horrible in this area - not a good location for staying for business meetings in my view
Pros.
1. Free wifi (through an annoying privacy notice that disconnects every couple of hours)
2. Beautiful furnishings and interiors
3. New gym equipment

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My family and I went to the Shagri-La for breakfast. The buffet was presented beautifully. The staff was extremely kind. There was a variety of sweet and savoury options. The view onto the Cornish was great. Issam was our waiter and took excellent care of us. He was extremely kind, caring and respectful. We will be back!
