Beautiful masjid, historically the site where the Prophet ﷺ turned from Masjid al Aqsa to the newly appointed (and now current) qibla of Masjid al Haram in Makkah. Tranquil, although now required to present your health condition via Tawakkalna app and also take a prayer mat based on my experience at the women's entrance.

During His second raqaat of zuhr prayer, Prophet Muhammad was instructed by Allah to turn the direction of qibla from Masjidil Aqsa in Palestine to Kabah. That's why it named Qiblataen (two qibla).

The importance of this Masjid is transition of Qibla happened over here during prayer (from Bait ul Muqadas to Kabat ullah). It's around 20 min drive from Haram Nabvi (Masjid Nabvi). Very beautiful, simple, neat and clean Masjid. There is parking outside but due to heavy traffic of pilgrims it's crowded mostly most appropriate time is early morning or Asr. Offering tahayat ul Masjid two rakats gives tranquility to soul.

The Masjid al-Qiblatayn, also spelt Masjid al-Qiblatain, is a mosque in Medina believed by Muslims to be the place where the final Islamic prophet, Muhammad, received the command to change the Qibla from Jerusalem to Mecca.

Masjid Al Qiblatayn also known as the Mosque with two Qiblas is one of the most historical important places in Islam and to Muslims all around the world. It is here where the direction of Qibla was changed forever from Masjid-Al-Aqsa in Jerusalem to Holy Ka'bah in Makkah. It happened midprayer when revelation was revealed to Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) while he was leading the prayers. This place feels so peaceful and the moment you see it , there is a special feeling one can feel. The mosque is beautifully constructed from inside. The direction of the old Qibla is shown on a Plaque in the wall in the opposite direction. A must visit place when visiting the holy city of Madina.

Masjid al-Qiblatain is where the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) received the command to change the direction of Qibla for Muslims. Therefore, even today, when people travel to Makkah for Hajj or Umrah, they especially visit Masjid al-Qiblatain to offer two Rakats voluntary prayers in the name of Allah and His Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). “Verily, We have seen the turning of your (Muhammed’s) face towards the Heaven. Surely, We shall turn you to a Qiblah (prayer direction) that shall please you, so turn your face in the direction of Al-Masjid Al-Haram (at Makkah). And wherever you people are, turn your faces (in prayer) in that direction.” [2:144]

It's always a great feeling to pray here. I feel overwhelmed and elated that Almighty Allah has given the opportunity to be amongst the lucky ones that have been able to perform Hajj and Umrah. Coming here to pray gives me joy and every sense of humility. Alhamdulilah for the opportunity
