I booked a stay at Raffles for my parents and family traveling with us first time for Umrah. We booked the royal two bedroom suite with Kaaba view only to be EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. First they charge for the view, which is what was advertised on their website (Panoramic Kaaba view) . Moreover, even when checking in they boast of the views of the Kaaba only to find an obstructed view- meaning no view at all due to construction. For a cost if $1200 USD per night, this is just straight up FRAUD and FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. We understand construction is not under their control however that should be CLEARLY stated on their website or told at check-in. Rahma (the person checking us in) and Ahmed (manager in charge) were extremely disrespectful and dismissive of our concerns. They say Raffles is one of the best hotels in Mecca but their hospitality is EXTREMELY POOR and makes one feel like a second class citizen. I implore you, anyone that can afford these hotel costs should reconsider and AVOID this hotel at any cost. They are NOT hospitable, welcoming or warm, rather they are abrasive, harsh and more favorable to Arabs over other ethnicities. My experience here was beyond awful. Mecca is such a blessed area and posting this might seem petty however there needs to be some level of accountability. Why is it that the consumer always suffers at the end and the hotel owners continue to profit off their own negligence with NO accountability. Please DO NOT waste your money here, once the credit card is charged they don’t care. Horrendous and terrible service.

For the price we paid I expected better attitude. At check out I’ve experienced almost thousands of calls that I needed to unblug the phone so my child get quite for me to manage packing. It was an awful end of what was a good stay.

Raffles is one of the best hotels in Makkah and enjoys a location right in front of the Haram. Signature suite was spacious and very clean. Food was good too - both breakfast and room service. Overall a great stay!!

Worst hotel experience ever! 5 star pricing for 1 star service and hygiene! There managing staff were not hospitable at all. Our ac was not working for a whole night and the next day which as a result we missed two prayers. and they only offered to change the rooms when we were infuriated and demanded to. We spoke to The customer relations manager (sara) and she was absolutely unprofessional bringing up personal issues and problems and did not even offer any sort of real compensation for our horrible experience and even the new room was extremely dirty with missing furniture.

Love the hotel, one of the best hotels I’ve been in Makkah. Service is excellent!! View is amazing! Food is really good, we went to the Al Majles restaurant and to another one can’t remember the name but both are really good. The only comment is that it might just need a little bit of renovation in some of the room amenities. But in general it’s excellent choice, highly recommended. Thank you to all staff there.

Worst price to quality ratio I have ever seen. Although the hotel is good compared to other hotels nearby, but the extra price you pay is not worth it. Pros: Close to the Masjid Rooms are bigger. Cons: Getting to the hotel is like playing a maze. If you are lucky to find the entrance from the parking lot you will have to take an elevator to find the reception. Very expensive compared to what they offer. Although the room is reserved for 3 people and 3 people checked in, they only allowed 2 for breakfast and sohour. Check-in experience is terrible. Besides the fact that I had to wait a while with my elders, they double charged me and I had to argue with them for a while and showed them the receipt from Booking.com. Even though, they had to call a supervisor in order to fix this problem which also took time. They did not give us keys to the room because they had a technical problem. They also did not offer to send the keys to our room. What a service from a hotel that charges you 4 times than normal and are not willing to send someone with a key to fix their mistakes!
