Moving with Namma Cargo was the 6th time I have moved internationally, but it was the first time that I have had such an unpleasant experience. I attempted to write in detail, but there is a word limit for reviews. Instead, I will list bullet-points. Namma Cargo was recommended to me by a friend who was also using them in the same time period as me. He and I compared the way the moving team behaved with him to the way they behaved with me and clearly, their interactions with him and me were very different. -Firstly, I asked my friend if the Namma Cargo team told him that they were expecting him to give them lunch. At the end of the 1st day, Dulal, the team leader, came to me and said, "Did you have lunch?" (I replied "no") He continued, "We were expecting you to give us lunch. What? You have no money?" None of the team that packed for my friend said anything like this to him. Why was this their expectation of me? I provided 5 boxes of 1.5-litre bottles of water...60 large bottles and made freely available for the team. I understood that the apartment was extremely hot and uncomfortable and apologised to each of them for that. I had planned on giving SR1000 as a tip at the end of the second day, but after Dulal rudely asked if I had no money because I did not feed the team and then told me that they would not be returning for the second day, I changed my mind. -The second incident relates to missing items. I created a list of items that I wanted to sell. Among those items were textbooks and accompanying audio, all valued between SR70 and SR680. When the team was packing the study, I told them to pack everything except the books behind the door. Dulal came to me to confirm this instruction and I thought nothing of it after that. The following day, someone contacted me to purchase some of the textbooks I had for sale and when I went to put them aside, I noticed that the majority of them were missing. Dulal's team had taken them and the accompanying CDs. This was done without my consent or permission, which is defined as theft. The books and CDs that they took were worth over SR 2000. When I called the company coordinator, he told me to forget it and let it go. If I was throwing those materials away or giving them away, I would have no trouble letting their transgression slide. But they took advantage of the fact that I was overwhelmed with my newborn and not watching them carefully to take advantage. In response to a follow-up email I wrote, he told me that I was lying because the items were packed. I am not and they were not. None of the boxes received contain the missing books or audio. - Thirdly, they were 3 weeks late in shipping my container and neglected to inform me. The contact company at the final destination informed me and expressed their frustration at the lack of organisation and professionalism of Namma Cargo. -Finally, my shipment arrived and nothing was in the box listed on the manifest. I specifically asked them to pack my infant's items separately and to clearly label the boxes baby items. When I opened the boxes, they contained everything other than my daughter's belongings. I had to open several of the 150 boxes before I could locate the items I had put aside for her. When I looked closer at the manifest, instead of listing exactly what was in each box, "misc. items" was written. Six international moves and this is the first time a company has been so unclear in itemising the contents of each box. Were it not for COVID-19 and social distancing, I would have been able to have help with my newborn so that I could have paid closer attention to what the movers were doing. But as I wrote earlier, with the five international moves before this one, I never had to micromanage the moving team. My recommendation? Use Namma Cargo if you have ABSOLUTELY no other choice, but pay close attention as the team as they not professional enough to work on their own the way I have experienced in the past. Also, if it is a big move like mine was, check EVERY box before they tape it shut.
