. وتسمى"بطاطا" في الجزائر ودول المغرب العربي وسورية، وفي بلاد عربية أخرى تسمى "بطاطس". وهذه الكلمة مأخوذة من الكلمة التركية patates. والكلمة التركية مأخوذة من الكلمة اليونانية (patátes) πατάτες، التي هي جمع كلمة πατάτα (patáta). والكلمة اليونانية مأخوذة من الكلمة الإسبانية. وأيضا كلمة potato الإنجليزية هي مأخوذة من الكلمة الإسبانية.
فوائد البطاطس للجهاز العصبي : تحتوي البطاطس على فيتامين ب وبعض الأحماض الدهنية مثل أوميجا 3 وبعض العناصر الغذائية الهامة التي تساعد على تحسين وظائف المخ والخلايا العصبية ، كما تساعد على التخلص من الأرق والقلق والإجهاد والاكتئاب.
