"بترورابغ" مشروع مشترك بنسبة (50:50) بين "أرامكو السعودية" و"سوميتومو كيميكال" اليابانية وتبلغ قيمته نحو 10 مليارات دولار، وبذلك تشكل حصة "سوميتومو كيميكال" أكبر استثمار أجنبي على الإطلاق في المملكة العربية السعودية.
تشكل عملية تمويل هذا المشروع أضخم عملية تمويل إسلامية لمشروع من نوعها حتى تاريخه.
تزود أرامكو السعودية المشروع يومياً بـ 400 ألف برميل من النفط الخام، و95 مليون قدم مكعبة من الإيثان، و15 ألف برميل من البوتان.
تم استخدام منتجات "بترورابغ" عقب تحويلها، في صناعة منتجات استهلاكية أخرى، مثل البلاستيك والمنظفات والزيوت والأصماغ والمبردات، ومضادات التجمد، والدهانات، والسجاد، والحبال، والملابس، والشامبو، والمكونات الداخلية للسيارات، ومواد العزل، والأفلام، والألياف، والأجهزة المنزلية، ومواد التغليف، والشموع، والأنابيب، وآلاف المنتجات الأخرى.
Petro Rabigh currently employs approximately 3,500 people, 80% of whom are Saudis, and the rest are from 22 nationalities around the world.
The Petro Rabigh project has an in-house R&D facility and is constantly keen to send staff to training programs around the world, including Japan, the USA, Europe, South America and Asia.
Petro Rabigh, a 50:50 joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Japan's Sumitomo Chemical, is worth about $ 10 billion, making Sumitomo Chemical the largest foreign investment ever in Saudi Arabia.
The financing of this project is the largest Islamic financing of a project of its kind to date.
Saudi Aramco supplies the project daily with 400,000 barrels of crude oil, 95 million cubic feet of ethane and 15,000 barrels of butane.
Following its conversion, Petro Rabigh products have been used in the manufacture of other consumer products, such as plastics, detergents, oils, glues, refrigerants, antifreeze, paints, carpets, ropes, clothing, shampoos, car interior components, insulation materials, films, fibers, household appliances and materials. Packaging, candles, tubes, and thousands of other products.
