★ ★ ★ ★ ★ بلال بن رباح (المتوفى سنة 20 هـ) صحابي ومؤذن النبي محمد ومولى أبي بكر الصديق. كان بلال من السابقين إلى الإسلام ومن المستضعفين الذين عُذّبوا ليتركوا الإسلام حيث كان عبدًا لبني جمح من قريش، فعذبه سيده أمية بن خلف بعدما أعلن إسلامه، فاشتراه أبو بكر الصديق وأعتقه. اشتهر بلال بصبره على التعذيب، وقولته الشهيرة تحت التعذيب «أحدٌ أحد». ولما شُرع الأذان، اختاره النبي محمد ليكون مؤذنه الأول.
Bilal bin Rabah (died in the year 20 A.H.) was a companion and muezzin of the Prophet Muhammad and the mawla of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq. Bilal was one of the forerunners to Islam and one of the oppressed who were tortured to leave Islam, as he was a slave of Banu Jamh from the Quraysh. His master Umayyah bin Khalaf tortured him after he announced his conversion to Islam, so Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq bought him and set him free. Bilal was famous for his patience with torture, and his famous saying under torture, "One is one." When the call to prayer was instituted, the Prophet Muhammad chose him to be his first muezzin.
