A beautiful old mud mosque has a basement in it The building of the historical Zarqa Mosque dates back to the era of Imam Faisal bin Turki - may God have mercy on him - in the period between (1259 AH to 1282 AH), and it is considered one of the most prominent heritage landmarks in the ancient town of Thurmada. King Abdulaziz Al Saud ordered - may God have mercy on him - to rebuild it, as the mosque was expanded to accommodate the number of worshipers, and among the most prominent imams of the mosque are Ibrahim Abdullah Al-Anqari, Abdul Rahman Muhammad Al-Muqrin, Ibrahim Abdul Rahman Al-Anqari, Abdullah bin Hamid Al-Hamid, and among the most prominent muezzins Abdullah Al-Qasim and Abdul Karim Abdullah Al-Shaalan. The Zarqa Mosque is located to the north of the old town of Thurmada, on the road linking the Governorate of Thermada and Shaqra Governorate, and the mosque is about 5.5 km away from the Marat governorate. The mosque is distinguished by its construction of mud and stone, and its roof built of alto wood and palm fronds, and its total area is about (326 square meters), and accommodates about (100) worshipers, and the mosque consists of a prayer house, a marina, a floor retreat with a flashlight, a well, a basin, a washing room, and a square lighthouse. The figure in the north of the mosque is about (11.29 m) high, and the mosque has two entrances, one in the northeast and the other in the north. The historical Zarqa Mosque, after the current development, includes the prayer house, a warehouse, a sarah, toilets, places and ablution, and it accommodates (180) worshipers.
