★ ★ ★ ★ ★ جاءت موافقة خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبد العزيز آل سعود- يحفظه الله- على تأسيس مركز يحمل اسمه ويختص بتاريخ الجزيرة العربية وحضارتها في جامعة الملك سعود تقديراً منه لأهمية الدراسات التاريخية والحضارية المتعلقة بالمملكة العربية السعودية بصفة خاصة والجزيرة العربية عموماً. وبناءً على ذلك أُقيم حفل التوقيع الرسمي لتدشين المركز بحضور ورعاية خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود – يحفظه الله- في شهر المحرم سنة 1431هـ.
 The approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may God protect him - came to establish a center bearing his name and specializing in the history and civilization of the Arabian Peninsula at King Saud University in appreciation of the importance of historical and cultural studies related to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in particular and the Arabian Peninsula in general. Accordingly, the official signing ceremony for the inauguration of the center was held in the presence and patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may God protect him - in the month of Muharram year 1431 AH.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ جاءت موافقة خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود على تأسيس مركز يحمل اسمه يركز على الدراسات التاريخية والحضارية للجزيرة العربية في جامعة الملك سعود تقديرا من الملك سلمان لأهمية الدراسات التاريخية والحضارية المتعلقة بالمملكة العربية السعودية بصفة خاصة والجزيرة العربية عموما. وذلك لما عرف عن الملك سلمان من اهتمام بالغ بالتاريخ وشجونه وإطلاعه الواسع وقراءاته النقدية والتحليلية لاسيما فيما يتعلق بتاريخ الوطن. لم تحل مسؤوليات الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز المتعددة بصفته ملكا للمملكة العربية السعودية، ورئيساً لعديد من الهيئات والمجالس الرسمية والأهلية وعنايته بشكل خاص بدعم جمعيات الأعمال الخيرية ومناشطها، ومشاركته الدائمة للمواطنين في أفراحهم وأتراحهم عن عشقه المتأصل بالتاريخ بصفته سجلاً خالداً للأمة ومرآة لتطورها وتوثيقاً لأحداثها. فكان دائما حفياً بالتاريخ والمؤرخين، مشاركاً ومصححاً لما يثار من مواضيع ومداخلات وأراء. من هنا جاء ترحيب الملك سلمان بفكرة إنشاء مركز يحمل اسم الملك سلمان في رحاب جامعة الملك سعود مكرساً للدراسات التاريخية والحضارية للجزيرة العربية. موجهاً أن تشارك دارة الملك عبدالعزيز مع قسم التاريخ بجامعة الملك سعود في إدارة المركز وتحقيق أهدافه. إدراكاً من الملك لما لهذه الشراكة من إثراء مهم في تحفيز حركة البحث التاريخي وتشجيعها لاستجلاء القيم العظيمة في تاريخ المملكة العربية السعودية خاصة والجزيرة العربية عامة.
The approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to establish a center bearing his name focusing on historical and civilizational studies of the Arabian Peninsula at King Saud University came in appreciation of the importance of historical and civilizational studies related to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in particular and the Arabian Peninsula in general. This is due to what was known about King Salman of his great interest in history and its afflictions, his extensive knowledge, and his critical and analytical readings, especially with regard to the history of the nation. King Salman bin Abdulaziz’s multiple responsibilities as king of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the head of many official and civil bodies and councils, and his particular care to support charitable associations and their activities, and his constant participation of citizens in their joys and sorrows for his love rooted in history as an immortal record of the nation and a mirror of its development and documentation of its events, have not been resolved. He was always a lover of history and historians, participating and correcting the topics, interventions and opinions raised. Hence, King Salman welcomed the idea of establishing a center bearing the name of King Salman in the premises of King Saud University, dedicated to historical and cultural studies of the Arabian Peninsula. Directing that the King Abdulaziz Foundation participate with the Department of History at King Saud University in managing the center and achieving its goals. Realizing the importance of this partnership in stimulating the historical research movement and encouraging it to elucidate the great values in the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in particular and the Arabian Peninsula in general.
