يعد هدفها الرئيسي هو تمكين وتعزيز المنشآت الصغيرة والمتوسطة والارتقاء بها في السوق وتكثيف الدراسات الخاصة بنجاحها ونجاح المشاريع في مجالات متعددة.
وتقوم الهيئة بطرح مبادرات متميزة لمساعدة الشركات الناشئة والمتوسطة، ومنها مبادرة استرداد الرسوم الحكومية مجاناً، والتمويل غير المباشر، وإقامة ورش عمل ودعم رواد الأعمال وتمكين الشركات الصغيرة والمتوسطة لسلاسل الإمداد من المشتريات الحكومية والشركات الكبيرة.
كما أنه توجد برامج متميزة ومتعدد تحت راية "طموح" ومنها طموح التجارة الإلكترونية، والتي تمكن التجار البسطاء في مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي من إنشاء موقع إلكتروني خاص وإضافة وسائل دفع وتصميم هويات تجارية وتزويدهم بالمعرفة اللازمة في مجال عملهم، كل ذلك مجاناً ..

 The General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises is one of the most recent public authority that was established by royal order in the Kingdom.
Its main objective is to empower and enhance small and medium enterprises, and to promote them in the market and to intensify studies on their success and the success of projects in various fields.
The authority is launching distinct initiatives to help emerging and medium-sized companies, including the initiative to refund government fees for free, indirect financing, holding workshops, supporting entrepreneurs, and empowering small and medium-sized companies to supply chains from government purchases and large companies.
