Probably because of the high price of tickets...the high speed train still takes 45 minutes to travel between Makkah & Jeddah airport... This was a terrible let down considering it touched 300kmph initially...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Architectural marvel, beautifully designed haramain high speed railway station to help pilgrims move from Mecca to Jeddah, madina etc. Staff speaks various languages keeping in mind pilgrims travelling from all parts of the world, a bit disappointing to mention that trolleys are very hard to find and chargeable at 5 sar. I struggled carrying three briefcases as trolleys are not visible at the entrance point.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An amazing experience with train from Madinah to Makkah. Modern and beautiful user experience. I bought ticket online and went 1.5 hrs before departure. Almost 10km from Madinah. Staff was so friendly and cooperative. On announcement you will scan qr code and goto 1st floor after checking you wait on lounge. On next announcement you will goto train, search ur bogi number and enter and search ur seat. For luggage 25kg plus hand carry is allowed. Train will reach in 2hrs 15min from where u can go haram through bus or cab. I have had marvellous experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a PHENOMENAL train station!!!!!! It is beautiful and modern. The trains are gorgeous and brand new. The journey was so smooth and only took two hours! The train’s cafe was also very reasonably priced. I am beyond impressed with this station and train service, which has made travel between Makkah and Madinah so much easier, alhamdulillah.

My first train experience in Saudi Arabia from Mekkah to Jeddah International Airport was in 45 minutes.
Very big stations and very organized.
New, clean, and very quiet trains.
Max. Speed is 250 km/hr.
I loved it. Way better than taxes and buses.
