Climbing is not easy on this mountain but Alhamdullilah got there safe and sound. Feelings peace of mind and think about our beloved Prophet Muhammad PBUH and his three day stay in this Cave. SubhanAllah

I am Alhamdulillah Pakistani Muslim and this historical mountain and cave thore is very important for us. This is mashaALLAH my second time I traveled here for ziarat. I have some recommendations for new commers. Bring one liter zamzam per person for drinking and throwing zamzam on head and clothes. One apple or any fruits one or two pieces only, don't carry weight too much. Bring any seeds for birds, throw that seeds at start point of hiking, you will meet many birds there. Bring one back bag, don't keep anything in hand. After fajar do breakfast at nearest restaurant and hire taxi (15 ~ 20 riyal from haram) start hiking as soon as possible after fajar. A normal person need one hour overall climbing and one hour overall rest during hiking. Total two hours till cave thore. Stay 30 minutes at cave or surrounding. Going down will take 30 minutes + 10 minutes rest if required. Wear joggers. Do rest after every 50 steps for few minutes. Take steps slowing, going fast will waste your energy. Utilize energy slowly. Keep supporting, encouraging other people also. If you are in a group, it will be more easy. Encourage each other. At return taxi will meet you. 5 riyal per person to haram. Good luck, May ALLAH give you strength. Pray for me, my name is Shoaib from Pakistan. Jazak ALLAH

This location takes you to the entrance of the new Jabal Thawr Cultural Center under construction. Some have said 4 more years before construction is complete, and some have said 1 more year. I recommend you enter through the neighborhood by turning right before the gas station (before this Google Maps location). Once you enter, people in the neighborhood will guide you. You can also drop 21.386517,39.847210 into your Google Maps search box. It will take you to the steps to climb Jabal Thawr. At around 485 meters in, you’ll find a small hut to buy water or tea. In about 1 year give or take, you won’t be able to walk up to mountain anymore. Good luck!

Serene experience at the top. A place where Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companion Hazrat Abubakr (RA) spent time during journey of hijra (migration). It is a tiring journey to the top (atleast an hour and thirty minutes climb) and pavement is not prominent at few places. People with height phobia must plan accordingly. Advisable time is early morning or after Asr prayers. There is a refreshment shop at the top but expect only water and juice over there. A must visit place to experience the holiness of city of Makkah.
