★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The falcon hunt was disheartening and disturbing. They bring ducks into the location for the falcons to ‘hunt’. The duck is not from the desert and they just sit there, awaiting their fate. At first I thought the falcon would hunt for an animal indigenous to its desert environment (perhaps with success), as part of the natural cycle, but the ducks they bring in are literally ‘sitting ducks’ who are ripped apart in front of you. The ducks do not even try to fly away. Our guide was kicking the duck to get it to fly, for the falcon to chase. My young kids were with me and we walked away before the killing took place, my son was crying and said it was not fair, he wanted to stop the guide. The other tourists were then brought in closer to watch the falcon tear apart the duck and then they posed with the remains. I understand nature, but that felt totally unnatural, it was more like a theater and I found it morally objectionable. I would strongly advise others to reconsider an excursion with this company.
