I am a big Mexican food fan, also all in for any street style authentic meal. I was happy to find (El Sombrero) on the list of Mexican restaurants in Jeddah, on a spontaneous Saturday family lunch outing, with my husband and 2 year old daughter.
As a designer, I was impressed by the joyful Mexican interior at first look.
However, the staff looked and lacked the minimum (food and beverage) hygiene protocols.
‘It’s street style’ I told myself. And went with it. We ordered their top sellers and a little more off the menu. (You may check their menu on the photos listed here)
The food arrived. I was super excited to try out their nachos, and the rest of the dishes!
Just a great disappointment. Stale and greasy.
Sorry to say so, but this place needs a great save as it’s got a good concept, but needs some super attention from its carriers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not a real Mexican food, it is a sort of modified one. Meal proportions are tiny, I ened ordering two meals of their version of tacos. The taste is fine. They don't have hard shell tacos.
Price wise a little expensive for the tiny meal they have.
The place is very very small, has two tables only and can cater for max of 8 people.
The tiny resturant is run by nice ladies.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My hunger station order was not going through so I called the restaurant and explained my situation, the nicest customer service agent responded and was very understanding and super kind! She sent us our order on spot and wrote us a note! This restaurant gets 10 stars for there amazing team!

They food was delicious. Only the gravy with the tacos didn’t have the consistency that I expected it to have. It was very thin.
