Unfortunately it is closed due to construction. We were told it is only available with a permit for foreigners only. But even with a permit you won’t be able to take good pictures due to the construction. This area is going to be a huge tourism spot once it is completed. There will be shopping, new hotels, restaurants and a lot of entertainment. Until then unfortunately avoid this area.

A must visit place. The monuments have been beautifully restored and well maintained. The guides and staff are very welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately the place is not yet open for the public at this time. They are open only for diplomats and VIP visitors.

Finally managed to get a view at the restored Thuraif district as part of the Noor Riyadh festival. The art work "Palace of light" was interesting but the highlight was to be taken on a private tour of Thuraif. The restoration may have been long but the wait has been worth it; the restored area is huge with a nice combination of original ruins amid building restored in great detail. Add in an (mostly) accessible walkway, a few museums and market places and its easy to see that Thuraif will be a massive attraction. Parking a bit problematic, as was the lack of public facilities.

Really nice site to see some Saudi history - was a bit hot but I suppose that’s par for the course. Def stay for the sunset projector show on the old palace.

Great place to visit. This place shows the history of at turaif district. It also has horse museum in it. We visited during the noor riyadh event The light show was great. The staff was very cooperative and provided us detailed information about the palace.

Not open yet, but we couldn’t find it online (for us it was closed, if you know the guy at the gate you can go in), but it could be a great experience when finished. Hard to get away with a uber, it is a building place! So only go with your own car to check out if it is open. For the information 2 stars.

One of the best preserved historic places in Saudi Arabia. This place definitely takes you back in time. It’s under development now but still worth a visit. We went in May 2022 and it was closed . But we could still see the site from outside. It’s magnificent ?
