يؤمن المسلمون أن المسجد الحرام هو أول مسجد بني في الأرض فعن أبي ذر: قلت: "يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ مَسْجِدٍ وُضِعَ فِي الأَرْضِ أَوَّلُ ؟ قَالَ: الْمَسْجِدُ الْحَرَامُ. قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ أَيُّ؟ قَالَ: الْمَسْجِدُ الأَقْصَى. قَالَ: قُلْتُ: كَمْ بَيْنَهُمَا؟ قَالَ: أَرْبَعُونَ سَنَةً، وَأَيْنَمَا أَدْرَكْتَ الصَّلاةَ فَصَلِّ، فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ مَسْجِدُكَ".[3]
Muslims believe that there are three mosques on earth that God has given great privacy, and they are arranged in order of importance: the Grand Mosque in Mecca and within it is the Kaaba, and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, the city of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, his family and his companions, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque located in Jerusalem in Palestine. Muslims are suffering greatly because one of their greatest mosques fell into the hands of Israel, and they feel a great deal of humiliation for the harm that this great edifice was subjected to, such as setting it on fire in the 1960s.
Muslims believe that the Grand Mosque is the first mosque built in the land was narrated from Abu Dhar: I said: "O Messenger of God, the mosque placed in the ground first? He said, the Grand Mosque. I said: O Messenger of Allah, then any? Said: Al-Aqsa Mosque. He said: I said: How long is there between them? He said: Forty years, and wherever you find prayer, separate, for it is just a masjid [3].
